I'm currently in Chicago, spending a week with my best friend from elementary school. Given that my family has moved SO much, I haven't always had the ability to maintain lifelong friendships. I've only known Ashley since 8th grade, so 11 years this year, and thus less than half my life, I consider my friendship with her a 'lifelong' one.

I normally come out to see her (and visit home, of sorts) every Thanksgiving weekend, but because of our frankly heinous winter last year, which decided to start early, I was unable to make it in. So, this is sort of to make up for that. Plus, I NEEDED a vacation. I think it's well-deserved.

I have nothing else much to say except that Ash and I? Are so alike, it's scary.

Okay, maybe a little. I did notice I was talking rapidly when I was talking to my dad and he's from the branch (herd? consortium?) of Chicagoans that don't talk fast, so he gave me a bit of a weird look but that might've been a normal weird look because I get those quite often and I'm done now.

Good trip. Sucked to cut it short (for reasons we haven't talked about yet) and foot pain, but otherwise, good trip. =)
