Pass the Cheer #2
Nov. 10th, 2007 01:06 pmAt a Starbucks drive-thru in Riverside, California, a customer spontaneously decided to pay for the drink of the person behind him. That delighted person was then inspired to pay for the drink of the person behind her, who then did likewise. What then transpired was an amazing chain reaction of cheer passing that lasted for seven cars.
(I did this, this morning, myself. I gave the cashier my change and told him to pay for as many people that it covered. He was surprised, certainly. I can only hope that it inspired the person behind me to do the same.)

Pass the Cheer #1
Nov. 10th, 2007 12:55 pmHold the door open for somebody laden with packages. Serve hot chocolate and coffee to passing carolers. Pay the toll for the car behind you. Or do something nice for somebody you don't even know. When you pass the cheer through little moments like this, you create warmth that outshines the brightest holiday lights.
